Position Summary

The Executive Director is responsible to the SFCCP Board of Directors. This position oversees the planning, development, supervision and implementation of all activities and programs while meeting the changing needs of constituents and complying with federal, local and state funding requirements. 

The Executive Director will recommend policies & procedures to the Board of Directors to achieve the Partnership's goals and objectives, establish structures to carry out the programs, implement Board policies with strict ethical propriety, and represent the Agency in the Community. 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the daily operation of the Partnership in a competent and business-like manner. 

  • Attend all Board meetings, prepare agendas and ensure that all necessary notices are mailed and posted. Participate in other local organizations and committees as necessary.

  • Serve as advisor to all standing committees.

  • Develop administrative and fiscal procedures.

  • Establish and carry out strategic planning processes in conjunction with the Board of Directors.

  • Dispense advice, guidance, direction and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with the established policies and Board approval. 

  • Oversees the adequacy and soundness of the organization's financial structure. Appoint, with Board approval, corporation signatories. Selects the depositories for the corporation funds, borrows money, and executes contracts with Board Approval. 

  • Perform continual review of operational results of the organization, comparing them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to adjust activities as needed and to meet the changing needs of the community. 

  • Maintain active, regular and frequent contact with the Chairman of the Board and other Board members. Act as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors 

  • Engage, promote, demote, suspend, or terminate as necessary other employees of the corporation. 

  • Perform additional related duties as needs for the Partnership present themselves. 

  • Represents the SFCCP in public.

  • Guide the corporation in its fundraising efforts, including grant-writing.

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED (QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Undergraduate and/or advanced degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • ​At least two years of senior leadership and grant management experience with the ability to manage effectively. Education may substitute for all or part of this requirement.

  • Knowledge and acceptance of Partnership mission, goals, policies and procedures. 

  • Ability to effectively coordinate Partnership programs and activities with other community organizations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.

  • Possession of a valid, current Missouri Driver's license and liability insurance as required.

  • Pass appropriate criminal background check.

Part-Time Substance Misuse Prevention Facilitator/Coordinator

Location: St. Francois County, MO

Reports To: Executive Director

Position Summary:

The Part-Time Substance Prevention Coordinator will play a critical role in advancing the mission of the St. Francois County Community Partnership by delivering evidence-based prevention curriculums and engaging with the community to promote substance misuse awareness and healthy lifestyles. This position is responsible for implementing programs like "Too Good for Drugs", “Wellness Plus,” and “Catch My Breath” to name a few, in local schools and the community, participating in community wellness events, and assisting with various other substance misuse prevention initiatives. The coordinator will be key in the success of these programs ensuring that SFCCP’s prevention efforts make a tangible impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Implementation:

    • Deliver evidence-based substance misuse prevention curriculums such as TGFD, Wellness Plus, and Catch My Breath to students across a broad range of grade levels in local schools and community events.

    • Ensure that lessons are age-appropriate, engaging, and impactful, and tailored to the specific needs of different student groups.

  2. Community Engagement:

    • Participate in local community wellness events to raise awareness about substance misuse prevention programs.

    • Distribute educational materials, including RX disposal bags, banners, posters, etc. to the community to promote healthy decision-making and reduce substance misuse.

    • Assist with organizing and facilitating other substance misuse initiatives as directed by the Executive Director, Program Director, & Board.

  3. Youth Coalition Development:

    • Identify and train older students to become peer educators, empowering them to lead prevention programs such as vaping awareness for their younger counterparts.

    • Support the formation and sustainability of youth coalitions that promote substance misuse prevention in the community.

  4. Training and Professional Development:

    • Participate in professional development workshops, certification courses, and other training opportunities to stay updated on best practices in substance misuse prevention and the strategic prevention framework.

    • Apply new knowledge and skills to enhance the delivery of prevention programs and improve student outcomes.

  5. Program Evaluation:

    • Utilize pre/post-test scores to measure the immediate impact of prevention programs on students' knowledge and attitudes toward substance use.

    • Contribute to the analysis of data collected through the Missouri Student Survey to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the prevention initiatives.

  6. Administrative Duties:

    • Maintain accurate records of program delivery, student participation, and evaluation results.

    • Prepare reports summarizing program activities, outcomes, and recommendations for improvement.

    • Collaborate with SFCCP staff, school personnel, and community partners to coordinate program logistics and ensure successful implementation.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Health, Social Science, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience in substance misuse prevention, youth education, or community outreach is strongly preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, educators, and community members.

  • Familiarity with presenting in front of groups strongly preferred

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • A commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing substance misuse in the community.

  • Flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend community events as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time position with varying hours (typically within the range of 7am-5pm), approximately 20 a week.

  • Travel to various schools and community locations within St. Francois County required (mileage reimbursement provided).

  • Compensation based on skills & experience.
